Know The Truth

Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you (John 8:32).

Have you experienced the Truth today? In the natural, we dont normally think of truth as something we experience, but Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Truth is the very essence of who God is. Its empowering. It will make you free! Truth comes from the Word of God. When you accept and believe Gods Word, something liberating happens on the inside of you. The lies of the enemy are broken in your life. You begin to experience freedom you never thought was possible!

And there is a difference between Truth and facts. The facts are what you see and the Truth is what God sees. If you are feeling burdened and heavy about something today, ask God to show you His Truth about that situation.

Study His Word until you find His promise for that area of your life. Meditate on His promises and declare His Truth in your life. As you declare Gods Truth, you will experience the freedom He promised and live in victory all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for Your Truth which sets me free. Open my understanding to Your Word today so I may experience Your liberty in every area of my life. I bless Your holy Name and love You today. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Seeing life from God's view

Seeing life from God's view
By Rick Warren

"What is your life?" (James 4:14b, NIV)

How you define life determines your destiny. The way you view life is your life metaphor. It's your description of how life works and what you expect from it.

It influences your life more than you realize and determines your expectations, values, relationships, goals, and priorities.

To fulfill the purposes God has for you, you will have to base your view on the biblical metaphors of life. These are: Life is a test, and life is a trust.

Life is a test - God continually tests people's character, faith, obedience, love, integrity, and loyalty. Character is both developed and revealed, and all of life is a test.

When you understand that life is a test, you realize that every day is important. God wants you to pass the tests of life, so he never allows the tests to be greater than the grace he gives you to handle them.

Life is a trust - We are to be stewards of whatever God gives us. All we enjoy is to be treated as a trust that God has placed in our hands. The more God gives you, the more responsible he expects you to be.

If you treat everything as a trust, God promises three rewards in eternity: affirmation, promotion, and celebration.

If your life metaphor doesn't line up with God's, ask him to give you a new perspective - his.

Point to ponder: Life is a test and a trust.

Verse: "What is your life?" (James 4:14b, NIV)

What will you do about it: No matter what trials or tests face you today, thank God that he is using those things to build your character.

Prayer: Ask God to keep you mindful that every day is significant. Ask him to help you pass each test and be a good steward of what he's entrusted to you.

You are not an accident

You are not an accident
By Rick Warren

"Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love." (Eph. 1:4a, Msg)

Your birth was no mistake or mishap. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did. He was not at all surprised by your birth. In fact, he expected it. He expected you – and he designed you with a purpose in mind.

God's motive for creating you was his love. The Bible says, "Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love."

Dr. Michael Denton, senior research fellow in human molecular genetics at the University of Otago in New Zealand, has concluded, "All the evidence available in the biological sciences supports the core proposition … that the cosmos is a specially designed whole with life and mankind as its fundamental goal and purpose, a whole in which all facets of reality have their meaning and explanation in this central fact."

The Bible said the same thing thousands of years earlier: "God formed the earth … He did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited." (Isa. 45:18, GWT)

Why did God bother to go to all the trouble of creating a universe for us?

Because he is a God of love.

This kind of love is difficult to fathom, but it's fundamentally reliable.

You were created as a special object of God's love! God made you so he could love you. This is a truth to build your life on.

Point to ponder: The universe was not complete, in God's eyes, until he had filled it with people to love. He planned from the beginning of time to make you!

Verse: "When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers - the moon and the stars you have set in place - what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us?" (Psalm 8:3-4, NLT)

What will you do about it: Take a look at the night sky and remind yourself that you are more important to God than all the stars combined. Let that motivate you to worship him.

Prayer: Thank God for planning your life and for loving you so much.
